Kirklees Saxophone Ensemble

Kirklees Saxophone Ensemble (KSE) performs a wide range of music, from renaissance to modern, including film music, musicals, ballads, blues music, to Rock and Roll. The ensemble performs in Town Halls, Schools, Parks and at numerous charity events.  The group performs three statutory concerts each academic year in addition to the many other charity concerts and events that it supports.

The KSE participates in workshops and regional competitions performing to high standard, gaining outstanding performances commendations. The group often performs their own compositions or works commissioned by local composers.

Since its formation the sax ensemble annually has toured Devon participating in the regional jazz festivals.  Recently the group opened the Cannington Jazz Festival.  The sax ensemble has toured France, Germany, Poland and Valkenburg.  They have also performed at many charity events raising money for excellent causes.  Whitby and Scarborough Lifeboats are just a few examples.

The ensemble is always willing to participate in local and regional workshops and community based projects.  Recently they performed with Snake Davis in Huddersfield whilst promoting saxophone and reed instrument accessories

KSE enjoys a busy concert/performance schedule but always finds time to relax and enjoy themselves.  We are a friendly sociable group and would love to hear from you if you are of grade 5 standard or equivalent.  We have the following instrumental line up, Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone and percussion.  If you play any of these saxophones and enjoy a challenge please contact us on 01484 426426.

KSE is directed by Mr Yates and rehearses at Moldgreen Community Primary School on Thursdays, 17.00-18.15 during the school year.
