The Kirklees Adult African Drummers recently celebrated it's 10th anniversary and for the last 2 years has gone under the name "Mmere dane", meaning "time changes".
It is open to people of all ages and ability levels. All instruments are provided and we try to perform 4-5 times a year at various events. These have included the Marsden Jazz Festival, the Mrs Sunderland Music Festival various school fete and charity galas and even a wedding, as well as more formal concerts in venues such as Huddersfield and Dewsbury town halls.
Our repertoire stems mainly from West Africa but does have a tendency to wander as the mood takes us.
If you would like to join our group, please come along on a Wednesday evening (during term time) 6pm - 7pm at Moldgreen Community Primary School, The Avenue, Moldgreen, Huddersfield HD5 8AE.
