Theory

When players have reached grade 5 on their instrument or voice, they have to pass grade 5 theory before taking any further exams. Classes exist in many of the centres to coach students through the theory exam.

Although passing Grade 5 theory is a requirement for further instrumental exams to be taken, theory classes may be attended by anyone wanting to know more about the theory of music. It is not necessary to have reached Grade 5.
