Dewsbury Swing Band Jubilee Tea

The Dewsbury/Mirfield swing band and the KYSO string quartet were honoured to be invited to play for the Mayor of Kirklees at the launch of the Kirklees celebrations to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on Saturday 2nd June.

The swing band entertained the guests with a variety of music for two sessions during the course of the afternoon festivities whilst residents sharing their special year with Her Majesty took afternoon tea as part of the celebrations in Dewsbury Town Hall.

75 guests attended the event which was held for those celebrating their 60th birthday or 60th wedding anniversary this year. The Deputy Lieutenant, Major Sui Cheung, was present, representing the Queen.
