How do I get an instrument?

Getting an instrument is easy

  • In the first instance, there is no need to buy one.
  • All good music shops have instruments for hire or to rent.
  • Kirklees Music School has available a small stock of certain instruments.
  • Kirklees Music School is always willing to advise.

How will I find out about my child's progress?

Practice diaries

When your child starts lessons with KMS he or she will receive a practice diary.

This diary allows communication between the teacher and you.

The teacher will record targets for the following week and the pupil records each day's practice.

At the end of each week you sign the book, and add any comments.

Yearly reports

You will receive a progress report at the end of the year.

A tear out section at the back of the practice diary gives you and your child the opportunity to comment on the progress report. This should be returned to your child's teacher.
