to Kirklees Music School and well done for choosing to learn how to play a musical instrument.

Learning to play music helps you with lots of other areas of school work. It also develops teamwork, builds confidence and it is a skill which will enrich your life forever. The potential benefits to your education are enormous and its fun!

This is your guide to help you make the most of your instrumental tuition.

How many lessons and how long are they?

You will have one lesson per week for almost every school week. They usually start in September and the last lesson is in the following July.

Lessons last between ten and thirty minutes.

How big are the groups?

You will learn to play your instrument in a small group of two, or three.

What do I need to bring to lessons?

Just remember 3 things:

  • Practice diary
  • Instrument
  • Music

Can lessons continue at my new school?

Yes

When you move to your new school, all your details will be sent to the school. You might even have the same instrumental teacher.
